Maybe this is not a normal question.
I don't normally hear people ask that, but hey even if you didn't ask, now you got the answer!
So, in what way do cuts and wounds heal?
As a result of an injury the skin gets cut and wounded and begins to bleed. BLOOD!!
The skin and the oozing blood work unitedly to heal this injury. Now ain't our body smart?
The gap that results from this accidental injury is filled up by the blood, which thickens and forms a clot. This clot of blood when comes in contact with air dries up and gets in the form of a hard scab. As we already know that the dermis replaces the old cells in the epidermis. The new skin starts to grow underneath. This new skin can be seen after the scab falls off. The colour of this fresh skin is pink.
