HOW DOES SKIN TAN

After knowing the thickness of our skin and how cuts heal, now would you like how your skin changes color? Most people like to get their skin tanned. So how does that work?

The sun rays carry with them ultra violet radiations which are very harmful to human bodies. In order to provide protection to the body from these radiations the skin contains a special substance called melanin. This melanin is also responsible for the different color of skins of different people. When the skin is dark brown, it has more melanin than the air ones. The skinned people have most melanin than others. Melanin is produced in our body by special cells in the skin. These cells are known as melanocytes. When you are in place where there is plenty of sunshine, the skin produces more melanin and darkens it.
