Hello guys! Let's talk a bit about biology today.
As the title says it all, what do you think? How thick is our skin? Fairly thin, you would say?
Before we get to the part of how thick our skin is, do you know what is skin?
The outer cover of our body is skin. It has two layers called the dermis and the epidermis. The outer layer, which is exposed is the epidermis. It has hard and tough cells that flake off when they die. The inner layer or the dermis passes on new cells to the epidermis. The thickness of the skin caries at different places of our body, but mostly it is just two millimeters thick. The skin provides protection to the body from the outside world. It helps to check foreign bodies like germs and dust. It provides protection from the radiations emitted by sun.
So...
our skin is only 2 mm thick...
